Palm Beach Surgical PBHNPG

General Surgery

Our surgeons work closely to provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care, including after hours, on weekends, and on holidays. Patients and their referring partners understand the personal care we give our patients and how well we manage surgical care in and out of the operating room. It is important that our patients have one-on-one communication, understanding, as well as a smooth recovery.

At Palm Beach Surgical, our experienced physicians take on the responsibility related to diagnosis, preoperative, operative, and postoperative management. Due to advances in medical technology, our surgeons can provide quality care to their patients through improved minimally invasive procedures such as laparoscopy and robot-assisted surgery.

The specialty of general surgery encompasses the diagnosis and surgical management of a broad spectrum of conditions.

We also diagnose and treat benign and malignant conditions, endocrine surgery, including thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands, skin lesions, benign and malignant minimally invasive surgery.

Surgery Techniques

Our doctors at Palm Beach Surgical have extensive experience in all surgical techniques, including open surgery, laparoscopy and innovative robot-assisted surgeries.

Open Surgery

Open surgery is a traditional type of surgery in which large incisions are made using a scalpel. While this can be performed safely and effectively, the larger incision may cause trauma and could result in a longer recovery. Furthermore, there is a higher risk of bleeding and infection. Open surgery is usually compared to “minimally invasive” surgical techniques, which involve smaller incisions. However, there are times where open surgery is a preferred approach by the surgeon. Our dedicated team can diagnose and give you the best treatment option available based on your medical conditions.

Laparoscopic Surgery

Also known as minimally invasive surgery, Laparoscopic surgery is an operation performed through the abdomen or pelvis area using small incisions and with the aid of a small camera and laparoscope instruments. There are a number of advantages of performing laparoscopic surgery versus open surgical procedures; these include less trauma, shorter recovery time, reduced pain, and less hemorrhaging.

Robotic Surgery

Robotic-assisted surgery may be the most precise instrument for minimally invasive surgery. Procedures are performed through a series of small incisions and guided through a robotic arm for maximum precision. At Palm Beach Surgical, we treat our qualified patients with the da Vinci system, one of the world’s most advanced surgical robots. The da Vinci has four miniaturized instruments; three of them are mounted on three separate robotic arms, allowing the surgeon maximum range of motion and precision, the fourth arm contains a magnified high-definition 3-D camera that guides the surgeon during the operation.
